حديقة طوني عيسى - بعد مسيرته الطويلة والمثمرة في خدمة الجالية بلدية باراماتا تكرمه داخل المستشفى.

مساء الاثنين، قدّمتُ عضو مجلس البلدية تانيا رفول طلبًا لمجلس مدينة باراماتا بتسمية الحديقة الواقعة في ساحة مدينة جرانفيل باسم "حديقة طوني عيسى" تقديرًا لخدمته العامة الجليلة ومساهماته في المجتمع.

يسرّني أن الطلب قد أُقرّ بالإجماع. واليوم، قدّمنا لتوني نسخة مؤطرة من مخططات ولافتة حديقة توني عيسى الجديدة في جرانفيل.

أقف لأُشيد برجلٍ تميّزت حياته بالخدمة - خدمةً نكران الذات، ثابتة، ومؤثرة لمجتمعه.

رجلٌ كرّس عقودًا من حياته للدفاع عن الأسر المحلية، والجماعات الدينية، والمنظمات المجتمعية، والشركات - دائمًا بإنصاف، ونزاهة، ودون تردد.

رجلٌ لم يكتفِ بالقيادة، بل ساهم في رفعة الآخرين، مُرشدًا الجيل القادم من القادة بحكمة وإيمانٍ بقدراتهم.

رجل خدم هذه المدينة بفخرٍ وإصرارٍ كبيرين، عضوًا في المجلس البلدي ورئيسًا للبلدية.

رجلٌ مثّل دائرته الانتخابية في برلمان نيو ساوث ويلز، ممثلًا ناخبيه بعزيمةٍ أرست معايير الخدمة العامة.

رجلٌ يجسّد كل ما هو عظيم في مجتمعنا المحلي: شجاعته، صموده، كرمه، ورفضه قبول أي شيءٍ أقل من الأفضل لشعبه.

سيدي رئيس البلدية، أتحدث، بالطبع، عن طوني عيسى - بطلٌ، مناضل، خادمٌ متواضع، وقائدٌ سيبقى إرثه خالدًا لأجيال.

من الصعب أن تتجول في غرانفيل دون أن تصادف شخصًا تأثر بلطف طوني أو مناصرته. اقضِ 30 دقيقةً فقط بجانبه، وسترى ذلك بأم عينيك - تحياته الدائمة، وأحاديثه الدافئة، واحترامه العميق الذي اكتسبه عبر الأجيال والخلفيات. لقد كان، ولا يزال، ركنًا أساسيًا من أركان هذا المجتمع.

من المناسب أن نُكرّم مساهمته الجليلة بتسمية الحديقة الواقعة في ساحة مدينة غرانفيل باسم "حديقة طوني عيسى" - تكريمًا خالدًا لخدمته وقيادته وحبه لهذه المدينة.

إن تسمية هذه الحديقة ليست مجرد اعتراف بإنجازات توني، بل هي تعبير عن امتناننا الجماعي. وهي أيضًا تذكير دائم:

• تذكير بالقيادة بنزاهة وشغف.

• تذكير بأن لا تحدٍّ يُعسر مواجهته بالعزيمة.

• تذكير بأن القيادة الحقيقية تُقاس بالخدمة، لا بالمكانة.

• تذكير بأن مجتمعاتنا تزدهر عندما نتكاتف.

• تذكير بأن تأثير فرد واحد مُخلص يُمكن أن يُغير حياة الكثيرين.

شكرًا لك، طوني، نيابةً عن سكان مدينة باراماتا.

• شكرًا لك على خدمتك وتضحياتك والتزامك تجاه مجتمعنا.

• شكرًا لك على قيادتك وإرشادك وقدوتك.

• شكرًا لك على تعليم الشباب من خلفيات ثقافية متعددة، مثلي، أن القيادة والنجاح أمرٌ ممكن.

إن دفاعك وروحك وإيمانك بهذه المدينة ترك أثراً دائماً.

وقام وفد من البلدية برئاسة مارتن زعيتر " لبناني الأصل" بزيارة نائب الجالية الوفي طوني عيسى في مستشفى وستميد بحضور عائلته وقدموا له المخطط للحديقة الذي ستحمل اسمه في منطقة غرانفيل

On Monday evening, I moved a Notice of Motion calling on the City of Parramatta Council to name the park within Granville Town Square “Tony Issa Park” in recognition of Tony’s immense public service and contributions to the community.

I’m pleased that the motion passed unanimously. Today, we presented Tony with a framed copy of the plans and sign for the new Tony Issa Park in #Granville.

I rise to pay tribute to a man whose life has been defined by service—selfless, unwavering, and impactful service to his community.

A man who has dedicated decades to advocating for local families, religious groups, community organisations and businesses—always with fairness, always with integrity, and always without hesitation.

A man who has not only led but has lifted others, mentoring the next generation of leaders with wisdom and a belief in their potential.

A man who served this city with immense pride and tenacity—as a Councillor and as Lord Mayor.

A man who stood in the NSW Parliament as the Member for Granville, representing his constituents with a level of determination that set the standard for public service.

A man who embodies everything that is great about our local community: its courage, its resilience, its generosity, and its refusal to accept anything less than the best for its people.

Lord Mayor, I speak, of course, of Tony Issa – a champion, a fighter, a humble servant, and a leader whose legacy will endure for generations.

It is difficult to walk through Granville without encountering someone who has been touched by Tony’s kindness oradvocacy. Spend just 30 minutes by his side, and you will see it firsthand — the constant greetings, the warm conversations, the deep respect he has earned across generations and backgrounds. He has been, and remains, a pillar of this community.

It is only fitting that we honour his immense contribution by naming the park within Granville Town Square “Tony Issa Park”—a lasting tribute to his service, his leadership, and his love for this city.

The naming of this park is not just an acknowledgment of Tony’s achievements — it is a statement of our collective gratitude. It is also a permanent reminder:

• A reminder to lead with integrity and passion.

• A reminder that no challenge is too great when met with determination.

• A reminder that true leadership is measured by service, not status.

• A reminder that our communities thrive when we stand together.

• A reminder that the impact of one dedicated individual can change many lives.

Tony, on behalf of the people of the City of Parramatta, thank you.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to our community.

Thank you for your leadership, your mentorship, and your example.

Thank you for showing young people from multicultural backgrounds, like me, that it is possible to lead and succeed.
